I work quietly and stay out of the way, so the day feels like yours and not like a shoot, but quiet doesn't mean absent.
When a moment needs a hand, I'll give it: the family photos organised so they're quick and painless, a steer toward better light, a little direction when it makes the picture better. I let the day lead, and step in when guidance will make it better, for you or for the photograph. I won't ask you to perform for the camera.
I photograph the people and the bonds between them: the parent who can't stop watching, the friends who take over the dance floor, the grandparents holding court, a tradition from your heritage done the way it's meant to be. Bring all the children and let them be children.
