Brianna & Katelyn's Kittyhawk Wedding, Sydney

Some weddings fill a cathedral. Brianna and Katelyn's filled one candlelit room in the middle of the city.
The morning was at the Old Clare in Chippendale, exposed brick, soft light, pearls and black velvet, something cold before any of it started. There's a particular calm to getting ready for a small wedding. No production line, just the people closest to you and the nerves building slowly.
They were married at Kittyhawk, down a lane off Phillip Street, behind a door most people walk past without seeing. Old mirrors, dark timber, wartime wallpaper, the kind of worn-in grandeur you can't build from scratch. They leaned all the way into it, black and gold on the tables, deep red flowers, tapers down the middle.
It was small on purpose. One big family and a tight circle of friends, everyone close enough to reach out and almost touch them while they said their vows, nobody there to make up numbers. You could see it in the room the whole way through.
